Before getting into pharmacy school, Manu went to UMBC for two years. She plans to have her own pharmacy someday, but until then she wants to work in both community and hospital pharmacies and get as much experience as she can. She is quite a social person and enjoys being around people. In her free time, she enjoys sleeping (a lot). She loves shopping, reading, playing tennis, dancing, bowling, relaxing with her family and friends, and being plain lazy. She doesn't really watch TV but is a HUGE fan of 24 and Heroes. Someday, she hopes she can be the female version of Jack Bauer (oops, did I say that aloud?!) This might seem a bit geeky, but she really enjoy going to pharmacy school and learning all kinds of cool stuff. She'll end with her favorite quote - "Explore. Dream. Discover." | Lisa Derby | Lisa grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. She attended Penn State University, where she earned a degree in Biology. She came to pharmacy school because she felt that it would offer her the chance to have both a fulfilling career and home life. After graduation, she is considering applying for a residency or working in a retail pharmacy. In her spare time, she likes to travel, go to Penn State football games, read, take walks around the city, visit with friends and family, play with her cat Gus, and watch Law and Order marathons. | Sanlyn D'Souza | Sanlyn is the fourth of five children, three sisters and one brother. He was born in India and moved to Toronto at the age of three where he partially grew up. Partially because he only grew to 5’5 (milk is scarce in a family of 7). His vertically challenged condition does not prevent him from playing any sports, which he does a lot in his past time, with the exception of ice hockey (go figure, eh!). He loves hanging out with friends, whether it be a night out on the town, or kicking it inside and playing video games. After completing pharmacy school he hopes to buy a Ferrari and travel the world, but not in his Ferrari, because that would be silly. | Selma Du | Selma grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. She received a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Virginia in 2005. Her hobbies include photography, the piano, and outdoor activities such as hiking. She also enjoys watching TV, and her favorite show is Lost. She is not sure what she wants to do after pharmacy school but is thinking about either going into ambulatory care or practicing in a clinical setting. | Toni Egharevba | Toni, a 6'2" Sagittarius, enjoys ice cream sandwiches A LOT. He was born and resided in England for about 14 years, and spent about 5 years in Vancouver, Canada before moving to Texas in 1997. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Texas followed by 3-year work at a Biotechnology company. His hobbies include weight training, sleeping, and eating. He enjoys parties, short walks on the beach, and the occasional Heineken (only when cold though!) | Erin Elwood | Erin Elwood was born and grew up in the small town of Clarksburg, MD. She graduated from Boston College in May 2005 with a Bachelor's in Biology. She is a big BC sports fan and loves watching BC basketball games! Her hobbies include hanging out with her wonderful friends, watching romantic comedies (especially The Notebook), and eating at California Tortilla! She is currently the Secretary of the Class of 2009 and the Historian of ASHP. | Meera Embran | Meera was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has lived in Salisbury, MD for the past fourteen years. She completed two-years undergraduate course work at University of Maryland, College Park prior to joining here at the pharmacy school. Currently, she is considering doing clinical pharmacy and possibly specializing in pediatrics or ambulatory care. In her spare time, she likes to watch movies, go shopping, listen to music, read novels, play tennis and racquetball, go to the gym, sleep, spend time with friends and family, and pretty much everything else that college students enjoy! She also enjoys traveling, especially to India, since she still has a lot of family there. | Kim Fetsch |
