American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists

Purpose:
The American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is the member organization representing the United States to the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF). As a member of APhA-ASP you are a member of IPSF. IPSF is worldwide federation of student pharmacist organizations. The goal is to encourage cooperation among pharmacy students and to promote their interests. Individual membership status is valid for up to four years post graduation.

IPSF has been in existence for over 50 years. The Federation is fostered by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and there is still a close working relationship.

IPSF unites about 350,000 students from more than 90 countries.

The IPSF General Assembly meets annually at the Annual Congress. It is held at locations around the world, and it is the largest event of the year. Contacts convey chapter reports, and students can partake in workshops, training sessions, and educational forums. This year, the Annual Congress will be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on August 1-11, 2008.
