 Dear Parent/Guardian: 

We invite your child to participate in the 2009 - 2010 A Bridge to Academic Excellence Tutoring Program offered by the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Entering its 10th year, ABAE continues to offer tutoring in Algebra I & II, Calculus, SAT Math and Verbal, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry, etc. at no cost to you. The tutors are here to reinforce the skills your child learns in the school your child attends. Please remind your child to bring his/her textbooks and notebooks to every tutoring session. The sessions are held from 10 am - noon in Pharmacy Learning Center at School of Pharmacy, 110 North Pine Street, Baltimore, MD. Tutoring for academic year of 2009 - 2010 will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2009 (orientation) and end on May 1, 2010. (See Calendar.) Please remember that we will not hold tutoring sessions whenever your child's school is closed or when the University is closed. 

Space is limited so please complete the four page Registration Packet for each participant and return them no later than 3 pm, Friday, September 11, 2009 to Ms. Hayes at:

  • Informed Consent and Usage Release Form (gives permission to the School to use pictures, quotes from your child in publications and on the web site) – complete and return

  • As in the past, we will provide transportation at no charge to and from the School of Pharmacy. The bus leaves Randallstown High School, 4000 Offut Road, Randallstown, MD, at 8:45 am and returns at about 1:00 pm, and leaves the Edmondson High School, 4501 Edmondson Avenue, Baltimore, MD, at about 9:15 am and returns about 12:30 pm. However, you may provide your own transportation if you prefer to do so.

    Finally, this year’s Annual Awards Ceremony, for all students and tutors who participate in ABAE's tutoring program, will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 10 am. We will send you details in early spring 2010. Please join us with your child for the Awards Ceremony.
