Color Poster Printer
PSC has purchased a color printer capable of printing high quality text and graphics on a roll of paper 24 inches wide. It is primarily intended for making posters, however, it is NOT able to produce laminated posters or posters in a single roll. Graduate students and faculty interested in trying it should follow the following procedure:
- Due to space constraints, and a need to protect the delicate Poster Printer purchased by PSC, it is temporarily housed Room 531 of PH. The printer is attached to a PC routinely used by Computer Services and is only available between the hours of 8:30 - 5:00 PM.
- Since ink and paper supplies are expensive for this printer, PSC faculty will be expected to pay for the cost of printing. For this reason, all appointments must be accompanied by a signed IDT for $50 per poster. The IDT should be made from your account to 02-1-10742 and reference the cost center - CPRINT. The cost will be reviewed once we see if this covers everything. Please do not print drafts on this printer or you will be billed.
- Ink and paper will be stocked by PSC and orders will be placed as appropriate. Changing paper is tricky, so please contact Computer Services if it is necessary.
- Powerpoint is the primary application in which we assume posters will be created. Printing problems can be minimized by ensuring the PC is not connected to the network prior to making your poster.
- If you are interested in a training/learning session, please e-mail Richard Dalby. Faculty and graduate students who decide to teach themselves will be responsible for the cost of their test posters.
- Please do not leave printing of your poster to the last minute - The printer will not be available after 5:00 PM.
