Ambulatory Care

The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (AACP), convened the most knowledgeable leaders in ambulatory care into a task force to develop a business model for non-institutional practice settings, including specialty clinics and medical offices. PPS professor Stuart Haines, PharmD, FCCP, contributed to the AACP Ambulatory Care Task Force.  The task force report detailed the challenges of practice, the opportunities, the business and legal considerations, the target market, and even payment systems.

This practice framework is the first of its kind, and a guidebook for experienced pharmacy practitioners turning to new sustainable avenues to apply their advanced practice skills.

The framework is an important first step in establishing standards of care, untangling regulatory issues, and guiding the pharmacy care and business practices, especially as it relates to compensation.

PPS faculty practice in a number of ambulatory care sites.  Click here for a complete listing of PPS ambulatory practice sites.
