Oncology Pharmacy Practice Residency
The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and the University of Maryland Medical Center, Department of Pharmacy Services provide a one-year (July 1 to June 30), postdoctoral, residency-training program in oncology pharmacy practice. This intensive residency combines patient care and clinical services, education and teaching, and research components to provide the resident with the expert skills and competencies necessary to obtain an administrative, academic, or clinical role in the field of oncology pharmacy practice.
The resident will provide clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team for the medical oncology, leukemia/lymphoma, and blood and marrow transplantation services. These rotations will be spent at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. The resident can choose from a variety of elective oncology experiences which include, but are not limited to, pharmacokinetics research, pediatric oncology, infectious disease oncology and hospice/palliative care.
The resident will attend hematology/oncology outpatient clinic one day a week.

Residents are appointed as Clinical Instructors at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Extensive interaction exists with other residents at the School of Pharmacy and surrounding institutions.

In addition to these unique experiences, the resident in Oncology Pharmacy Practice is expected to participate in Pharmacotherapy Rounds, the Residency Management Seminar series, teaching activities and Journal Club. For more information about these specific activities, please click here.
