Dr. Mullins is a Professor in the Pharmaceutical Health Services Research Department at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He received his BS in Economics from M.I.T. and his MA and PhD in Economics from Duke University. His research and teaching focuses on pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical/health outcomes research, pharmaceutical pricing, and economic analysis of the pharmaceutical industry. He is the Shared Resources Core Director for the NIH-sponsored University of Maryland Center for Health Disparities Research, Training, and Outreach and is co-Investigator on several other NIH Health Disparities grants, where his principal role is evaluating the cost-effectiveness of interventions aimed at reducing health disparities. He has designed several cost-effectiveness analyses and budget impact models for both the pharmaceutical and insurance industries.
