Once a completed application has been received by the School of Pharmacy, our admissions committee chooses a pool of applicants to continue to an in-person interview in January and February (October for Early Decision applicants). When a decision has been made regarding your interview, you will receive an e-mail from our admissions office.
On the day of your interview, you should dress in professional attire. You'll also need to bring a valid form of ID and a pen or pencil for your essay.
You will have three interviews: one with current students, one with a faculty member, and a group interview with other applicants. There will also be an essay portion.
In preparation, you’ll want to ensure that you have the time, location, and directions to your interview in advance. Also, you’ll want to take potential traffic and finding a parking spot in consideration when planning your travel. Interviews will not be rescheduled for applicants that are late or miss their interview.
During your interview, you will be evaluated on communication skills, maturity, motivation for pharmacy, and problem solving. Spend some time considering your answers for typical interview questions, visit our web site and learn about our philosophy of education, background of faculty members, and the mission and values of our school. Finally, stay abreast of current events and research in the field.
Approximately 350 candidates are scheduled for an interview each year.
Financial Aid
We recommend that if you are scheduled for an interview, you complete a Maryland Residency Form if you will qualify for in-state tuition. (Who qualifies?) You should also complete a FAFSA form.
Although your admission is not guaranteed at this point, completing these forms now means that your financial aid will not be delayed.
Please mail your Maryland Residency form to:
