Common Problems With Viewing Mediasite Videos
Before reporting a problem with Mediasite, check below. Many common problems have easy solutions you can do yourself.
Video Never Starts, Or The Presentation Slides Do Not Show
Try these solutions in order:
- If you are using a pop-up blocker, set it so that it allows pop-ups from mediasite.umaryland.edu.
- Clear your Web browser's cache.
- Log out of Mediasite and log back in.
I Can See The Video, But Colors Are Distorted
- Quit your Web browser.
- Open Windows Media Player.
- Go to the Tools menu and choose Options. Under the Performance tab, turn off any options relating to video acceleration.

- Click OK and then quit Windows Media Player.
I Can See The Video, But I Can't Hear Anything
This is almost always caused by not having the volume set properly on your computer. There are three places this is set:
- Inside the Mediasite Viewer window, there is a volume control directly under the video.
- Check your system's volume control, and make sure it hasn't been muted.
- Check your speakers or headphones for a volume control.
