Raymond Love
Associate Dean, Curriculum, Instructional Design, and Technology


Raymond C.Love, PharmD, BCPP, FASHP, a 1977 graduate of the School of Pharmacy,has been on the School’s faculty for over 20 years. He developed and continues to direct the School’s Mental Health Program, which provides pharmacy services for the Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration. Love has served as vice chairof the School’s Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science and has chaired the School’s Curriculum Committee, where he led efforts to revise the curriculum tomeet new accreditation standards. Love has been a member of the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, and was an architect of the School’s P3 (Patients, Pharmacists, Partnerships) Program to expand patient self-management services for those withchronic diseases. His research focuses on new treatments for schizophrenia and mood disorders, the delivery of pharmacy services to people with mental health problems, and pharmacy ethics. He has been a principal investigator orco-principal investigator on contracts and grants totaling more than $40 million.

Shannon Tucker
Assistant Dean of Instructional Design and Technology

Shannon Tucker is Assistant Dean of of Instructional Design and Technology for the School of Pharmacy.  She works with both the Computer and Network Services Department and Office of Academic Affairs to support the school’s various Web-based initiatives, including development of Web-based applications, management of the school’s web site, managing support for the curricular usage of Blackboard, and support of other educational technologies in use at the school.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Imaging and Digital Arts from University of Maryland Baltimore County in December 1997 and ia Masters of Science degree in Interaction Design and Information Architecture from University of Baltimore in May 2006.  Shannon is also an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), ACM SIGGRAPH, and ACM sigCHI and served as Student Volunteer Program Chair for the 2002 SIGGRAPH conference.

Chris Klimas
Instructional Technology Specialist

Chris Klimas serves as an Instructional Techology Specialist in the Computer and Network Services department. He earned a BA in English from Washington College in 2001, and worked on several award-winning educational Web sites before joining the School of Pharmacy. As Instructional Technology Specialist, he helps support faculty with their use of technology, creates documentation and online tutorials, and develops Web applications.

Richard Ruane
Instructional Designer

Richard Ruane is an instructional designer with over ten years of experience in higher education, including six years in e-learning. He holds an M.A. in communication from The University of North Texas and has done additional graduate work in instructional design and distance education at The University of Maryland University College and Indiana University at Bloomington. He is currently a doctoral student in communication design program at The University of Baltimore.
