![]() | David S. Roffman, PharmD, BCPS/Cardiology David S. Roffman, PharmD, BCPS/Cardiology is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. Dr. Roffman earned his BS in Zoology in 1967 at the University of Maryland, College Park; BS in Pharmacy in 1970, PharmD in 1973, and a certificate of Residency in Clinical Pharmacy from the from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1973. He has served on the faculty at the School of Pharmacy since that time. He instituted the first cardiovascular pharmacotherapy specialty practice in the State of Maryland, and has been the Therapeutic Consultant in the Cardiac Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical System for more than 25 years. In addition, Dr. Roffman has maintained a primary care practice in various ambulatory care clinics (currently Medication Management Clinic) at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Roffman has received the “Teacher of the Year” award from both the faculty of the School of Pharmacy, and on three occasions from the students in the graduating class. He was one of the first two recipients of the Dean’s Distinguished Educator Program at the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Roffman’s educational research interest focus on the development and assessment of clinical thinking skills. |
![]() | Lisa Lebovitz, JD Lisa Lebovitz, JD is Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration / Human Resource Management from Duquesne University in 1989 and a Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 1993. Her primary roles include functioning as a resource for faculty and staff on accreditation and academic policies, and facilitating assessment including course evaluations, student satisfaction surveys, faculty effort and noninstructional productivity. She oversees the school's institutional assessment plan, dual degrees and academic pathways, academic scheduling, and the operational aspects of continuing education. |
Douglas Nutter, PhD Douglas Nutter, PhD, serves in the Office of Academic Affairs as Assessment Coordinator. After earning his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2005, he served as Undergraduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona, where he oversaw the curriculum, advising, and retention for the department’s 700-student undergraduate program. Dr. Nutter brings extensive experience in program development, research design, and data analysis to the School of Pharmacy, where he is responsible for designing and implementing activities related to institutional assessment and accreditation as well as the analysis and use of data from these activities in areas including academic departments and centers, academic affairs, and student affairs. | |
![]() | Mona Tsoukleris, PharmD, BCPS Mona Gold Tsoukleris, Pharm.D., BCPS is Associate Professor, Pharmacy Practice and Sciences (PPS). She earned a PharmD from University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1987. Dr. Tsoukleris’ practice interests include development and delivery of new clinical pharmacy practice models in the ambulatory care environment. Her scholarly interests include description/evaluation of clinical pharmacy practice models on a variety of patient and system outcomes, especially in the ambulatory care and community pharmacy settings. Optimization of patient education and adherence as well as patient use of asthma care devices (i.e. metered dose inhalers, spacers, dry powder inhalers, and peak flow meters). |
![]() | Cynthia Boyle, PharmD Cynthia J. Boyle, PharmD is Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Practice and Sciences (PPS) and Director of the Experiential Learning Program. She earned her PharmD in 1996 from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Boyle’s research interests include improving experiential learning to prepare students to meet the challenging demands of pharmacy practice, fostering exemplary clerkship partnerships, and increasing the effectiveness of preceptors. She is also working to promote safe medication practices for public safety, professionalism, and leadership and advocacy development. |
![]() | Shannon Tucker Shannon Tucker is Director of Instructional Technology for the School of Pharmacy. She works with both the Computer and Network Services Department and Office of Academic Affairs to support the school’s various Web-based initiatives, including development of Web-based applications, management of the school’s web site, managing support for the curricular usage of Blackboard, and support of other educational technologies in use at the school. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Imaging and Digital Arts from University of Maryland Baltimore County in December 1997 and ia Masters of Science degree in Interaction Design and Information Architecture from University of Baltimore in May 2006. Current projects include the development of a secure Web-based Portal, redesign of the school’s web-based calendar interface, developing and implementing plans to support the use of educational technology in the school. Shannon is also an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), ACM SIGGRAPH, and ACM sigCHI and served as Student Volunteer Program Chair for the 2002 SIGGRAPH conference. |
![]() | Chris Klimas Chris Klimas serves as an Instructional Techology Specialist in the Computer and Network Services department. He earned a BA in English from Washington College in 2001, and worked on several award-winning educational Web sites before joining the School of Pharmacy. As Instructional Technology Specialist, he helps support faculty with their use of technology, creates documentation and online tutorials, and develops Web applications. |
![]() | Richard Ruane Richard Ruane is an instructional designer with over ten years of experience in higher education, including six years in e-learning. He holds an M.A. in communication from The University of North Texas and has done additional graduate work in instructional design and distance education at The University of Maryland University College and Indiana University at Bloomington. He is currently a doctoral student in communication design program at The University of Baltimore. |
